Material Going to Phalin Affected Areas

Responding to the situation, IRCS-OSB has made an immediate assessment of the very severe cyclone & flood affected villages with the support of IRCS, National Headquarters and International Federation of Red Cross & Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).

 Life Members, Junior Red Cross, Youth Red Cross counsellors & volunteers and staff members of IRCS-OSB prepared the dry food packets (one packet contains Chudda, Jaggery(Guda), Candle, Match Box, Biscuit and salt) at Red Cross Bhavan, Bhubaneswar which was sent to affected areas.

Distribution of Food

IRCS-OSB has distributed 3,500 Dry food packets, 4,000 Tarpaulin and 51,000 Water Pouches to the flood affected people of Mayubhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak and Kanas in Puri district respectively.

One Water Purification Unit along with three trained National Disaster Water Response Team(NDWRT) volunteers has been deployed at Daya Vihar in Kanas block of Puri district & distributed 3,500 ltr. safe drinking water to the flood affected people.

Distribution of Relief

Dr. Mangala Prasad Mohanty, Honorary Secretary, IRCS-OSB had taken a lead in the well coordinated effort of Red Cross Odisha in evacuating more than 2,00,000 people in all 75 cyclone shelters & school buildings.

Many nos. of Tarpaulin distributed the vulnerable people in Mendhasal, Paikarapur and Chandaka villages of Khordha district by IRCS-OSB.
